Significant Overseas Expansion! SIASUN Mobile Robots Enter the European New Energy Market in Large Volumes

On an autumn day in Shenyang, the sky stretches vast and clear. At dawn, Siasun’s Witpark comes to life, with over a hundred mobile robots lined up in neat formation within the workshop, poised and ready. They await their final inspections and packaging, before embarking on a journey across vast distances to Europe, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the large-scale entry of Chinese mobile robots into the European new energy market!

From China to Europe, domestic mobile robots continue to lead in the new energy market.

Before the explosive growth of the new energy market in China, SIASUN had already taken the lead in developing robotic equipment for the industry, forging deep partnerships with several leading enterprises in the new energy sector. To meet the stringent standards of production equipment in the new energy industry, SIASUN pioneered the development of a comprehensive product portfolio for new energy mobile robots in China, addressing key challenges such as the precise and safe docking required in battery roll material production. This has led to the creation of an integrated intelligent logistics solution for the new energy battery sector, spanning raw material/anode and cathode roll storage, front-end electrode sheet manufacturing, mid-stage cell synthesis, formation and capacity grading, and final battery assembly.

In bidding for the European factory project of a global leader in smart battery technology, Siasun overcame numerous challenges during the 20-month tender process, including the time difference between China and Europe and language barriers. Despite facing fierce competition from eight internationally renowned competitors, SIASUN successfully won the bid, earning high recognition from the client’s European team. The products being shipped primarily consist of mobile robots and supporting equipment for the client’s French factory. Additionally, orders for the client’s UK gigafactory will also be shipped in the near future.

This marks a significant milestone for SIASUN Mobile Robots in their large-scale entry into the European new energy market and will further solidify their leading position in the global new energy sector.

Innovation never stops; the combination of “standardization + customization”meets customer needs.

The mobile robot products and solutions developed by SIASUN for the new energy industry can be replicated in similar scenarios across different manufacturers, continuously shortening delivery cycles. However, given the varying production environments and process requirements across different regions and industries worldwide, it is challenging to meet user needs through a 100% standardized design. Therefore, the engineering attributes of product customization are particularly strong.

New Energy Roller-type Mobile Robot

The products shipped to the European factory are diverse and extensive, including over a hundred mobile robots across four major categories, more than 300 sets of buffer rack equipment in six categories, and over 400 various docking platforms. In terms of mobile robot product design, SIASUN has utilized its mature product portfolio in the new energy mobile robot sector while also customizing and developing new innovative products based on customer process requirements. The V-type channel forklift mobile robot is a typical example.

To meet the technological development needs of the new energy industry and the specific process requirements of customers, SIASUN has innovatively developed the industry’s first V-type channel forklift mobile robot, which uniquely addresses the handling of battery electrode rolls using a forklift mobile robot. The V-type channel forklift mobile robot features a visual material recognition system that autonomously adapts to multiple customer process flows and five different material types, completing intelligent handling of electrode rolls and logistics data statistical processing. Unlike traditional stacker-type, transport-type, and other V-type channel mobile robots, this new product is smaller in size and more flexible, with a unique design that enhances its adaptability to various scenarios. It is expected to be widely applied in the new energy sector and other emerging popular industries in the future.

In this project, SIASUN deployed nearly a hundred mobile robots of diverse types, such as high-precision mobile robots and single-arm axis mobile robots, to deliver intelligent and flexible solutions for a leading German factory of a world-renowned new energy technology company. This comprehensive mobile robot system solution successfully obtained EU CE certification. Notably, this project represents SIASUN’s inaugural venture into overseas new energy battery projects with its mobile robots.

Collaborating with Multinational Teams to Create a Comprehensive Process Solution for Mobile Robots

In the European factory project, the Siasun team faced significant process differences between foreign clients and domestic new energy battery manufacturers. They were tasked with developing an integrated solution for the transfer of materials by mobile robots, spanning from front-end foil and powder handling to back-end module lines. The complexity of the project was further compounded by various factors, including a wide range of vehicle models, large quantities, extensive operational areas, and intricate interfaces, all of which increased the challenges of coordination and execution.

Throughout the project, the SIASUN team engaged in communication with client teams from China, Japan, the UK, and France to discuss project plans, leveraging their rich experience in project execution within the new energy sector to provide technical insights. Simultaneously, they maintained ongoing coordination with dozens of original equipment manufacturers and on-site third-party suppliers from multiple countries, including China, Japan, Germany, and South Korea, to ensure the efficient and stable implementation of project details. They also worked to expedite the design, processing, and manufacturing of various products in accordance with the project timeline, conducting simultaneous debugging across multiple production lines for different process stages, demonstrating remarkable organizational skills and operational capability!

As a global leader in smart battery technology, the successful implementation of this project has laid a solid foundation for establishing a long-term, positive, and stable business relationship between both parties. It is reported that based on the fruitful collaboration thus far, strategic plans have been made for further cooperation in multiple global regions. This not only marks a significant step for SIASUN in the overseas new energy market but also represents an important milestone for domestic robot manufacturers in their internationalization process, instilling strong confidence in the continued expansion of “Made in China” into international markets across the globe!
