Setting Sail for New Horizons: SIASUN’s Mobile Robots Enter the Indian Local New Energy Market in Bulk
In late November, SIASUN made a bulk shipment of mobile robots and supporting equipment to a well-known battery brand manufacturer in India. This marks the first time SIASUN’s mobile robots have entered the local new energy market in India, representing a new milestone in its international expansion journey.
India is one of the fastest-growing markets for new energy vehicles (NEVs) globally. According to relevant data, in 2023, sales of electric vehicles in India grew by approximately 114% year-on-year, with a projected year-on-year growth of 66% in 2024. The Indian government’s goal of achieving a significant market share for electric vehicles by 2030 signals tremendous growth potential for the Indian market in the coming years. This rapid expansion of the NEV market has also driven an increase in the demand and production of new energy batteries.
The project’s client is committed to becoming India’s “first super lithium battery enterprise”, with plans to establish a benchmark new energy factory in India. During the selection process for mobile robot equipment, SIASUN was chosen as the preferred mobile robot brand due to its advanced technological capabilities and years of accumulated application experience.
Over the years, SIASUN’s mobile robots have deeply cultivated the new energy market. From being the first in China to develop a full product matrix of new energy mobile robots, to continuously expanding partnerships with leading companies in the new energy sector, and then exporting new energy mobile robots to locations worldwide, SIASUN has steadily and methodically built a solid presence, becoming a globally renowned supplier of new energy mobile robots.
This shipment includes over a hundred mobile robots of two major types. SIASUN has utilized its established product matrix in the new energy mobile robot field, with the core models being the hover-lifting mobile robot and the dual-arm lifting mobile robot. These robots will efficiently and accurately perform tasks such as automated conveyor transport of battery rolls, full/empty pallet handling, and automatic docking with various types of workstation equipment on the factory floor.
The dual-arm lifting mobile robot features a dual-elevation structural design, combined with high-precision motion control algorithms. It can complete the exchange of full and empty coil cores in a single cycle, doubling efficiency, speeding up operations, and saving energy. Additionally, a customized upper structure with adjustable width has been developed for the client, allowing the robot to autonomously adapt to the transportation of battery coils of different specifications.
The mobile robots utilize a fleet scheduling system and can efficiently integrate with the client’s MES system, effectively responding to the fast-paced production schedule and complex process flows. These robots are expected to be deployed in several key process areas, including the transportation of raw materials such as powders and foils, as well as logistics handling in the production and assembly workshops for cylindrical and prismatic battery cells.
